Amazon delivery woman in Nevada rescued a girl with a dog from a pit bull who attacked them

An Amazon delivery driver in Las Vegas recently had to make an unscheduled stop to rescue a woman and a small dog attacked by a pit bull. USA Today.

Lauren Rae, 19, was on the street on December 13 when a pit bull attacked her family's small dog, Max. Ray lifted Max up and tried to fend off the dog's attack, which was captured on video with a security camera.

“My first thought was, ‘Save the dog,’” Rae said. “I would let a pit bull bite me for all I care.” “I just wanted my dog ​​to be safe because he’s so small, compared to a pit bull, he didn’t stand a chance.”

However, Ray was unable to fight off the pit bull, which continued to circle and grab her and Max. The cry for help was soon responded by Amazon delivery service driver Stephanie Lontz, who stood between the dog and Ray and told her to run into the house.

Lauren's father, Michael Ray, a real estate agent, was about to show the house when he received a notification from Ring's camera and saw the incident unfold. He said he was in "panic mode."

“I'm half an hour's drive from home. It’s literally like I’m watching a soccer game and shouting, “Go inside. Go to the house, ”he said.

He then saw the Amazon driver swoop down "like Wonder Woman" and give Lauren Rae time to drag Max inside.

Before leaving, the driver shouted to the pit bull: "You are a bad dog!"

The family posted a video of the incident in hopes of finding the driver, who intervened. And last weekend, they were able to meet with Lontz and personally thank her.

“I would be lost without any help,” Lauren Ray said. -I had no idea what I was going to do. I didn't know if I would get injured. And to risk your life like that is a really big deal and means a lot to me.”

Lontz said Rae's cries made her think about her own child. “I just hope someone will help her if she finds herself in a similar situation. It’s just human,” she said.

Amazon delivery drivers often experience similar incidents, Lontz said.

“Two days before, I was bitten by a dog. “Two days before, I rescued a child who was not even two years old, but he was locked in the house,” she said. -We're really going through a lot. Sometimes it's not even realized. I have a colleague who recently put out a fire in the backyard of someone else’s house.”

In addition to gratitude from the Ray family, Lontz was also greeted with gifts and balloons from colleagues and employees of Local 702 Logistics, the local courier company that Amazon had contracted with.

Shortly after the incident, the pit bull was taken away by the local animal control department.
