The documents were anonymously sent to Susanna Craig, a reporter, by mail (the shipping address indicated the Trump Tower in Manhattan).

These are 3 tax returns filed in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Trump's former accountant Jack Mitnick confirmed the publication of the authenticity of the documents.

The presidential candidate himself commented on this information in his microblog Twitter.

“I know our complex tax laws better than anyone who will ever run for president. And I am the only one who can fix them,” Trump wrote.

In turn, the staff of his election campaign released statementin which they did not confirm, but did not deny this information.

"Mr. Trump is a highly accomplished businessman who is responsible to his business, family and employees and pays no more in taxes than is required by law," the statement said.

Trump's lawyer sent a letter to the New York Times in which he claims that the publication of the reports is illegal, as the businessman did not allow disclosing information about his taxes.
