Putin's friend's daughter: I want to impose sanctions on my father

Olga Litvinenko, daughter of the rector of the Mining University of St. Petersburg, Vladimir Litvinenko, is trying to get her father’s country of the West to be put on the sanction list and helped to get her daughter, who’s grandfather has been keeping in Russia for eight years DW.

Vladimir Litvinenko is also the co-chair of the campaign headquarters of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is considered the richest university manager in Russia: one of his shares in the joint-stock company Fosagro, according to DW estimates, is estimated on the stock exchange to an amount in excess of 1 billion dollars.

The daughter, who worked for a long time as an assistant father, claims that his wealth is acquired illegally.

“Having received Apatit (a subsidiary of Phosagro) completely illegally.” Ed.), forcing the legal shareholders to sell it at a meager price after the arrest of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, my father turned out to be the owner of almost 20 percent of Phosagro shares,” the girl says.

Litvinenko also claims that her father is the true author of Putin’s thesis.

“I want people to understand and know who this Putin is. When my father wrote his dissertation, he did not even come to him to consult about how this was happening. In any other normal country, after such a scandal, the rector, at a minimum, should leave his post,” says Litvinenko.

A woman said that a father had kidnapped her daughter to make her an obedient deputy. Litvinenko has not seen a child 8 years.

“She doesn’t know about me. Any attempts to call or communicate are stopped. He built a special school for her. This is a private school on land that the Mining Institute received for a laboratory and scientific complex. Now, in order to stop any of my attempts to see my daughter, my internal passport has been revoked in Russia. Let me add that for seven years on the territory of Russia I have been considered kidnapped due to a false denunciation by my father. All my assets in Russia were frozen so that I could not pay for lawyers,” Litvinenko recalls.

The conflict between father and daughter began in 2000-ies, when a woman was an assistant to Litvinenko and worked in Putin's campaign headquarters in 2000 and 2004.

“I saw all these falsifications, I saw how “dead souls” were used to fill out subscription sheets, how student labor was used for free, how they were forced to stand in the cold and hand out booklets. I saw how large businessmen gave money to the black cash desk in cash cases. After that, Mironov, Matvienko, together with my father, offered me to become a deputy,” she says.

Litvinenko thought that she would be engaged in social and youth politics, but in fact it turned out that she could not promote her initiatives.

“I must vote as needed, as Sasha Zaragatsky, the shadow assistant at that time to the chairman of the Legislative Assembly, will say. He handed out papers to everyone with information on how everyone should vote. Zaragatsky, together with the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly and Matvienko, complained to my father,” says Litvinenko.

She also recalls that her father wanted to send her to the budget committee so that her daughter would receive a financial resource and could use it as her father would say.

“It was necessary to transfer a certain amount of funds to several dummy funds, which, as I understand it, belonged to him. He wanted me to participate in a number of large corruption schemes. But I won’t sign up for crime. And I don’t want to be unable to look my children in the eyes later. And I have four children,” says the woman.

Litvinenko fears for his life and is afraid that his father might kill her.

“Yes, he can kill me. Naturally, I'm afraid. Considering that he himself is afraid of what I can say, and what information I saw, heard and know while still with him, naturally, he is afraid - just as I am afraid,” she says.
