Designer items for nothing: how an American makes money on lost luggage and parcels

YouTuber HopeScope managed to get his hands on Gucci shoes, a Louis Vuitton bag, four Hermes necklaces and several pairs of Yeezy shoes in one mysterious box. How it happened, the publication told New York Post.

The girl told how she buys containers with lost delivery items, and now her wardrobe is full of designer items.

In a video that has over a million views, she explained, “This is what happens when a luxury item is shipped to the recipient and then gets lost or left unclaimed. They go to an auction where other people can buy them for an incredibly low price."

“I bought a huge box to see what treasures I could find there,” the blogger said.

HopeScope said she paid $7000 and collected designer items worth a staggering $55.

Opening her box after she arrived at her apartment, she said, “I'm so excited. It will either be a waste of money or the best thing I have ever bought."

She had nothing to worry about, because the first thing she found was a pair of Gucci shoes, and exactly her size. As it turned out, their cost is $380.

One of the best items in the mystery box was a Louis Vuitton bag. Its price is $6604.

The blogger joked about her auction: "No wonder people fought so hard for this box."

Hope had already made her money back with just these two items, but that was just the beginning.

The box also included Gucci belts that sell for $700, Louis Vuitton wallets for $640 and $840, Yeezy shoes and a host of other designer items.

She pulled out three Hermes bags of $5000 each and four necklaces, among other things.

She wasn't sure one pair of Louis Vuitton sneakers that cost $5600 was real, as they smelled more like plastic than leather.

She said, “This whole box could be fakes. If all this turns out to be real, then the total cost will be $55.”

Many viewers were very impressed with her "catch".

One of them said: “My trust issues would never allow me to spend that much on a box of unknown contents. But it's amazing!"

Another added: “I’m literally tearing up with envy! You are an angel, I am very happy for you.

A third commented, "I would like to see the authentication process for each item and see how much it actually costs."
