The woman gave birth to 9 children, and they all survived: how do the babies from the Guinness Book of Records feel?

A resident of Mali successfully gave birth to nine babies in 2021. In 2022, children will be in Guinness Book of Records. Now the family has come to Italy to take part in a television show.

Previously, the record belonged to eight babies born to Nadya Suleman (USA) in 2009.

Mother of nine, Halima Cissé, admitted that it is not easy to get all her children to bed every night.

It is not known whether anyone will bypass these kids, but there is five records that the Committee No longer accepts Guinness.

“We hug them so they can sleep. They really like hugs,” the woman in labor noted.

Unique case

Cisse's children were born prematurely via caesarean section on May 4, 2021 - at 30 weeks of pregnancy. Each child weighed 0,5–1 kg.

The five girls are named Adama, Oumu, Hawa, Kadidia and Fatuma; four boys - Umar, Elhaji, Bah and Mohammed VI.

Cisse became the object of adoration for all of Mali during her pregnancy. At the time, doctors believed she was expecting seven children. The Malian government took her to a specialized clinic in Morocco. There, doctors determined the exact number of children.

After birth, the babies were immediately transferred to incubators and received 24-hour care for several months.

They were then moved to a specially equipped apartment owned by the clinic, where nurses helped Halima complete the unprecedented task of caring for nine newborns.

In the meantime, the newborns' father, Abdelkader Arbi, remained in Mali to look after his three-year-old daughter Souda.

Regarding the world record, Abdelkader said: “We are proud of this joy, it is something exceptional. It’s great - my family is famous all over the world!”

Nineteens are an extremely rare occurrence, usually associated with complications that result in the death of babies.

Doctors know of two such cases - in Australia in 1971 and in Malaysia in 1999. None of the children in either family survived.
