Trump is close to a deal with Congress on immigrant children

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he was close to a deal with Congress, thanks to which “dreamers” get long-awaited protection, and the US will strengthen border security, reports USA Today.

However, presidential spokeswoman Sarah Huckabi Sanders gave a different assessment of the conclusions reached at the end of the meeting.

“Both DACA and border security were indeed discussed, but there was no agreement on the abandonment of the wall,” Sanders wrote Twitter.

The immigrants who came under the DACA requirements were granted the right to work in the USA and to be protected from deportation for a period of two years. Then this permission could be extended.
