A popular airline in the US will make flights less convenient.
The airline Delta Air Lines decided to reduce the angle of reclining seats in some aircraft that make domestic flights in the US, writes Fox News.
The company intends to reduce the angle of reclining from 10 to 5 cm in economy class on its A320 aircraft. The company claims that they do it for passengers so that they can sit comfortably in case a neighbor in front throws a chair.
Ekrem Dimbiloglu, Delta's director of customer service, said reducing the recline angle is an effort to protect rear seat passengers. Anyone who's ever placed their laptop on a reclining table during a flight knows all too well the pain of having their seat suddenly recline.
The seat recline angle will also be reduced in business class - from 14 to 8,89 cm.
The change will affect only aircraft A320, which operate domestic flights in the country, lasting up to two hours. On these flights, most of the passengers are upright and working, rather than leaning back, so reducing the degree of reclining of the chair will in fact have no effect on the flight mode of many people. Although for those who want to relax, reducing the angle can create significant discomfort.
