CIA gave Russia data on the preparation of the terrorist attack in St. Petersburg

December 15 Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on the suppression of the activities of a group of supporters of the Islamic State terrorist organization, who on December 16 planned to carry out terrorist acts by self-suicide in crowded places.

Criminals led from abroad by means of the messenger Telegramwrites “Jellyfish".

During the operation, 7 people were detained; a weapon was found in the apartment where the detention was carried out.

Later it became known that иInformation on the preparation of terrorist attacks in St. Petersburg was received by the FSB from the Central Intelligence Agency.

This is stated in the message Kremlin press services.

President Vladimir Putin phoned his American counterpart, Donald Trump, to thank him for the information he was given, in the Kremlin assured that the Russian special services would also transmit such information to their American colleagues.

Putin noted that information from the CIA allowed "to go on the trail, to detect and detain a group of terrorists."

“The head of the Russian state asked the President of the United States to convey words of gratitude to the director of the CIA and the American intelligence operatives who received this information,” the Kremlin press service reports.
