The CIA has published on the Internet dozens of secret maps relating to world politics
The US Central Intelligence Agency has published several dozen maps that were previously classified. Documents office posted on your account in flickr.
The maps are dated for various years, starting with 1941, and relate to the multitude of international processes of the second half of the 20th century. In particular, the US military and political leadership used these cards during the Second World War and the Vietnam War, during the years of confrontation with the USSR and the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, writes Medusa.
In particular, among the published documents, the map of the Leningrad Front during the blockade of Leningrad, a map of concentration camps in Germany, the main oil fields in the Middle East, a map with the distribution of gross national product by regions of the USSR, a map of Cuba during the Caribbean crisis with installation marks for intercontinental ballistic rockets.
"Do not use for targeting"
One of the maps is dated 2003 and shows a detailed map of Baghdad. Obviously, the map was published on the eve of the US special operation in Iraq. Also visible on the map is the inscription “Do not use for guidance.”
