11 thousand immigrants will receive US citizenship in honor of Independence Day
US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will celebrate Independence Day with naturalization ceremonies. From June 28 to July 5 there will be 195 of them. About 11 people will receive US citizenship, reports USCIS.
In FY 2023, USCIS admitted 878,500 new US citizens. In the current fiscal year 2024, 589 people have already received citizenship.
“USCIS is authorized to conduct the Pledge of Allegiance ceremony for thousands of new citizens during Independence Day celebrations,” said USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddu. “These new citizens add diversity to our great nation.” We are ready to support everyone who has the right to obtain citizenship, and with it all the freedoms and rights that US citizens have.”

On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence and declared the 13 American colonies a new country - the United States of America. USCIS is proud to celebrate this momentous occasion by hosting special Independence Day naturalization ceremonies around the world.
On this special day, July 4th, Deputy Assistant to the President Blas Nunez-Neto will take part in a ceremony at Mount Vernon, George Washington's estate and plantation near Alexandria. Other ceremonies will be held across the country, including at the Battleship New Jersey, Gateway Arch State Park in Missouri and Lewis and Clark Historic Park in Oregon. USCIS highlights the contributions of naturalized citizens to the country through the Outstanding Americans by Choice initiative and provides $12,6 million in grants to immigrant-serving organizations. We also expanded Citizenship Ambassadors initiative, which helps spread awareness about immigration.
In addition, USCIS continues to support U.S. military personnel, veterans, and their families by streamlining the naturalization process and providing specialized services, including page on our website, military help hotline, exemption from paying fees for most applications and a special procedure for considering applications for naturalization of military personnel.
