What is the certification of presidential election results, and how it works
8 December almost all states have certified the results of the popular vote in the presidential election USA. What is certification and how does this process go? "Voice of America".
At the end of the elections, local officials count the ballots and compare the counting results with the number of votes cast.
Check whether those who used the so-called conditional ballots have legally voted.
They are used to fix the vote if the voter's right to vote has not been established.
A voter may need a conditional ballot if:
- his name is not on the voter list;
- a voter came to the polling station without proper identification.
The local election commissions then send the final results for certification to the appropriate authority.

The certification commission usually represents the interests of both parties, and its members are elected or appointed by the heads of administrative regions.
Barring obvious counting problems that could change the election results, the commission approves the vote and sends it to the state for final certification.
Residual certification is conducted by a state control committee, which includes the head of the governor's office or a small group that may include the governor and other high-level officials of the state.
