What Putin said about the US, EU and Ukraine at the St. Petersburg Forum

Russian President Vladimir Putin compared with anti-Semitism the search for evidence of Russia's intervention in the US presidential election. With such a statement, the head of the Russian state spoke at the international economic forum in St. Petersburg.

“I read these reports, even in these reports there is nothing concrete, there are only assumptions and conclusions based on assumptions. (...) It’s easier to say that we are not to blame, the Russians are to blame - they interfered in our elections, and we are good. In general, this reminds me of anti-Semitism: the Jews are to blame for everything, he can’t do anything himself, but the Jews are to blame,” Putin said.

According to the President of the Russian Federation, it is the West that interferes in the internal politics of Russia.

“You should look at what your colleagues are doing here: they just got into our internal politics with their feet, sat on our heads, dangled their legs and chewed gum,” he said.

In addition, the Russian leader drew attention to the fact that the foundation of mutual cooperation between Russia and the United States collapsed, and this situation does not suit the business of both countries.

During his speech, Putin also expressed his attitude towards European and American anti-Russian sanctions, noting that they helped Russia structurally change the country's economy.

“The sanctions helped Russia to“ turn on the brains ”instead of trading in oil and gas, pushed for structural changes in the economy,” Putin explained.

He also touched on the latest developments in Ukraine, stressing that Kiev makes demands on Moscow, refusing to solve the problems that arose on its own.

“Why are all the demands addressed only to Moscow? We will never solve any problem this way. If you started this mess yourself, do at least something to end this problem. Well, at least something. It’s not enough just to point the finger at Russia all the time,” said the Russian President.

Recall that this year St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held on June 1-3. The forum also includes 637 representatives from Russian companies and more than 500 foreign delegates from 62 countries.
