With a decrease in the flow of illegal immigrants, on farms growing vegetables and fruits, there is a shortage of labor and the owners have to pay higher wages. Most Americans do not want to work physically on farms for $ 12 per hour.

Lopez will note that the number of legal immigrant workers who arrived from Asia, mainly from China and India, is several times higher than legal and illegal workers from Latin America.

Some illegal immigrants come to work in the country officially, but after the end of the visa they continue to live in the United States, but without documents.
