Here is a short list of thousands of free online courses from some of the well-known educational portals on the internet. You'll find everything from simple college courses to professional development and learning new hobbies.
EDX: 3600+ free courses
If you can't find free education on EdXMost likely, such a course simply does not exist. The purpose of the site is to provide online courses from the best colleges and universities around the world, almost all of which can be taken for free.

This is a trick, albeit a small one. A course audit means you skip quizzes, quizzes, and certain course materials. However, you can pay to get real course lessons. The cost of a course can be in the thousands, just like in a real school. But if you want to absorb and retain the material and don't mind testing it out, this is a great place to start.
COURSERA: 2500+free courses
Coursera similar to EdX, although it has a dedicated free course section. Compared to EdX, Coursera leans a bit more towards professional learning, but it's likely that you'll be able to find a fair amount of matches if you search hard enough.
That being said, give Coursera a shot if you want some professional development in your spare time.

Then on the page Catalog scroll down to the "Most Popular Courses" section and filter the drop-down submenu to select free courses.
This is a good place to start, although there is no comprehensive free section. But once you find a coding discipline that you really enjoy, you can drill down into it in the left navigation and filter for free courses in the same way.
UDEMY: 500+ free courses
Last Stop: Free Courses Section Udemy. Here you'll find a good mix of professional development, coding classes, and classes that teach you new skills, like how to take better photos or learn a particular piece of software.
