The black bear settled under the terrace of a house in Connecticut: the owners decided not to disturb him and now they all live together
The family discovered a black bear hibernating under the decking in their backyard. They named him "Marty" and don't disturb him as long as the animal is a respectful tenant, reports News8.
About a week ago, Vincent Dashukevich and his girlfriend were outside with their dog when suddenly the dog started growling at something near the pool in the backyard. When he went to see what caused the dog's reaction, he saw a black bear.
“I really had no thoughts, I was just in shock. He looked straight at me. I didn't know what to do, I just wanted to make sure my dog was safe," he said.

Unlike the other bears he saw in the backyard, this bear didn't want to go back to the forest.
“He was very calm, I went out to check on him a few times and he didn't really move. He looked at me several times, but now he is just calm,” Dashukevich said.
Dashukevich's sister Tyler posted a video of the bear on TikTok. As of January 6, the video has over 12 million views and thousands of people have left comments to give their advice.
“The advice is: feed him, make him a pet. But I will be realistic,” said Tyler Dashukevich.

“Until now, all opinions are divided. Half the people think it's the scariest thing, and the other half are like, "Can you pet him, he looks so cute." So we try to keep our distance, but we think he's cute," Dashukevich said.
He says a DEEP employee told him to leave the bear alone if it wasn't causing problems, and the animal would probably be gone by the end of January. They told him that if the bear did cause problems, he could be made to leave by blowing a horn and flashing a bright light. If all this does not work, then DEEP will come and take the bear.

DEEP says if you see a bear near your home, never approach or feed it. Bears will defend themselves if a human gets too close. If a black bear approaches you, DEEP offers to go on the offensive by yelling at it and waving its arms.
