Brooklynsk Mikhail Chernyaev went to prison for a long time

49-year-old Mikhail Chernyaev, who was tried in September for the murder of her ex-girlfriend's boyfriend, was sentenced to 25 years in prison, according to district attorney Eric Gonzalez.

According to the prosecutor's office, in September 2012, Mikhail choked, and then killed Charles Butler in the apartment of his former common-law wife Anna Lioznova. After that, Chernyaev brought the body to the north of the state and threw it off a cliff near Port Jervis.

Chernyaev and Liozonova lived next door on Brighton 8 Street. Anna had a son from Chernyaev, but they were not officially registered. At that time, Chernyayev had a wife. Such a relationship did not suit Anna, and she met on the Internet with Charles Butler. At the time of their acquaintance, he owned an insurance company and independently raised 3 adult children in Florida.

Later they began to see each other in New York. Once he crossed with Chernyaev.

“When I entered Lioznova’s door, I met a man,” said Chernyaev. - He began to talk about Anna. He told me to leave Anna alone. We had a fight, and he hit me in the stomach. I pushed him away and he hit his head. ”

Chernyaev used Butler's cell phone to restore relations with Lioznova, and also to prevent the search for the victim. He wrote her a message, allegedly from her boyfriend: “I must leave now. Just forget about me. ”

Butler's body was found a month after the murder. It partially disintegrated and was disfigured by animals. He was identified by DNA analysis.

“This calculating killer gave up his right to be a part of our society when he senselessly killed a man, dumped his body and tried to deceive his worried loved ones,” Judge Gonzalez said. “He thought he could get away with it, but now he will spend many years in prison.”

Earlier, Chernyaev confessed to killing detective New York police Konstantin Popandopulos in exchange for 20 years in prison. But he soon gave up his words, stating that he understands poorly in English, and therefore did not realize all the conditions.
