Employees of the anti-terrorist unit of the Boston police shot and killed a person under surveillance in the parking lot.

The police said he attacked with a knife a police officer and an FBI agent who approached him.

The incident occurred early Tuesday morning in a residential area of ​​Roslynsdeil.

The police said that the deceased was under round-the-clock surveillance, but did not specify why - whether he was associated with Islamic extremism, whether he was suspected of preparing a terrorist act, or for some other reason.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said the victim was a "known suspect wanted for information related to terrorist activities." At the same time, according to him, there was no arrest warrant for this man and the police did not try to detain him.

The representative of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Ibrahim Hooper said that the name of the victim was Osama Rahim.

Hooper reported that he spoke with the elder brother of the murdered Ibrahim Rahim, who, according to him, is the imam of a mosque in San Francisco.

Contradictory evidence

Ibrahim Rahim said on Facebook that his brother was shot in the back while waiting for a bus on his way to work.

This statement is contrary to the words of the police.

“This morning, my little brother Osama Rahim was at the bus stop in Boston, waiting for the bus to go to work. Three Boston police officers approached him and shot him three times in the back,” wrote Ibrahim Rahim.

Iman Rahim said his brother was on the phone with his father when shots were fired.

“His last words to my father, who heard the shots, were ‘I can’t breathe!’” Ibrahim Rahim said.

"Military type knife"

Police say the dead man refused to carry out several orders to drop his weapon, and then attacked law enforcement officers.

“Our officers did everything they could to get him to drop the knife,” Boston Police Chief William Evans told the Boston Globe. “Unfortunately, they had to take his life.”

At a press conference near where the incident occurred, William Evans described the man killed as a man in his 20s who was on foot and carrying a black “military-style knife.” Some US media reported that it was a machete.

The man was brought to the hospital, where he was killed for at least two gunshot wounds.

The police officer and the FBI agent were also taken to the hospital, where they were tested for stress. They received no physical injuries, a police spokesman said.
