Most Americans think Trump is better for the US than Biden

A majority of Americans said they believe they would be better off financially and that the United States would not go to war if Trump is re-elected to the White House, according to a new poll, reports The Hill.

A new CBS News poll finds that 45 percent of Americans believe they will be better off financially if Trump is successful in the presidential election. Another 32 percent said they would be worse off financially if Trump won, while 23 percent said it would make no difference.

President Biden performed worse than Trump among survey respondents when asked about the economy. 48 percent of voters said they would be worse off financially if Biden wins a second term, while only 18 percent said they would be better off financially. Another 34 percent said nothing would change.

When it comes to whether the United States can avoid war in the near future, a larger percentage of voters believe Trump, not Biden, can keep the country out of war. Forty-three percent of voters said the chances of the U.S. being drawn into war would decrease if Trump wins next year's election, while 43 percent said those chances would increase under Trump.

If Biden becomes president in 2024, 49 percent of voters said the chances of the U.S. getting involved in the war would increase, while another 23 percent said those chances would decrease under Biden's leadership. Twenty-three percent said the situation would not change if he were re-elected.

The CBS News/YouGov poll was conducted among 2636 U.S. adults between Oct. 30 and Nov. 3 and has a margin of error of 2,6 percentage points.
