More 150 Russian fans participated in fights in Marseilles

French prosecutors said they had failed to detain a single Russian on suspicion of participating in riotsthat happened in Marseilles last week before the match between Russia and England at Euro-2016.
In total, 20 people have been detained for participating in the fights before the match, on Monday the first 10 of them will be brought before the court. According to prosecutors, we are talking about the British, French and Austrians.
At the same time, the prosecutor's office notes that about 150 football hooligans from Russia participated in the unrest, all of which were well prepared and organized. However, to identify and detain them so far failed. Police continue to study the recordings from surveillance cameras.
At the same time, the police detained two Russians, but not for fighting, but for entering the football field during the match. In total, in Marseille, according to prosecutors, there were about 12 thousands of Russian fans.
Massive brawls between Russian and English football fans took place on June 11 before the match between the two teams. Several people had to be hospitalized. The state of one of them - 50-year-old Englishman - is assessed as critical.
The riots continued during the match. At the very end of it, Russian fans broke into the stands where the English fans were and tried to tear down the English flags. They also bombarded the British with foreign objects.
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has opened a disciplinary hearing against the Russian Football Union (RFU) on the results of the Russia-England European Championship match.
Fans of the Russian national team are charged with riots, racist behavior and the use of pyrotechnics. UEFA threatened Russia and England with disqualification and withdrawal from the tournament if the fans of these teams continue to cause riots.
