More than 100 thousands of homes in Los Angeles were left without electricity: how to survive a long-term failure
8 July an explosion occurred in the Department of Water Management and Energy, which left more than 140 000 houses and businesses in the San Fernando Valley without electricity.

Officials promised to fully restore the supply of electricity by Sunday afternoon, if no force majeure situation occurs.
Electricity was deliberately cut off so that firefighters could safely fight the flames that occurred after the explosion in the department. A fire broke out in a vault containing 50 000 to 60 000 gallons of mineral oil. 84 firefighters, who managed to put out the fire by July 9 morning, fought the fire.
No injuries or injuries were reported.
Fire and power outages caught the inhabitants of the region in very hot weather, the air temperature reached 43 degrees Celsius. The power outage left the inhabitants of the region without fans and air conditioners, which exacerbated the problem of too hot weather. Moreover, the inoperative refrigerators and heat have led to a rapid deterioration of the products.

• Refrigerator: first of all eat in the fridge that can deteriorate faster, at the same time try to keep the freezer closed as long as possible, as it will keep the cold longer. The foods in the freezer will not spoil so quickly.
• If you need to go somewhere, you should not refuse to travel, but be attentive to the crews of emergency services on the roads and their equipment, which can be placed on the roadway during the restoration of electricity supply.
