Bloomberg: the founder of the World of Tanks game from Belarus has become a billionaire

The state of 39-year-old Viktor Sour, the founder of World of Tanks, has exceeded $ 1 billion, writes Bloomberg with reference to the billionaires own index (Bloomberg Billionaires Index). The total cost of Wargaming, according to the agency, is about $ 1,5 billion.

Sour himself counts the compilers of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index declined to comment, assuring that he never tried to count their own money, and the lifestyle is "very modest." In a conversation with the Bloomberg correspondent, the founder of the company, in the game projects of which more than 100 million people are registered, assured that Wargaming does not intend to stop there.

“We have to create a pipeline for the production of quality games. Our company intends to develop all large markets. If there is a billion microwaves with joysticks on which you can play games, we will create programs for them, ”said Sour.

According to Bloomberg estimates, Wargaming's total revenue in 2015 was about $ 590 million.

In 2013, Wargaming acquired the rights to the iconic brand Master of Orion and in 2015, announced the release of the updated space strategy Master of Orion.

The company, which was later renamed Wargaming, was founded in 1998 by Viktor Kisly, a graduate of the Faculty of Physics of the Belarusian State University. In 2010, Wargaming released the multiplayer online game World of Tanks. The company owns a 20,3% stake in the Cyprus bank Hellenic.
