Bill Gates named the Russian women with whom he cheated on his wife: Jeffrey Epstein blackmailed him with these connections.

During questioning by Congress, Microsoft founder Bill Gates named two Russian women with whom he had relationships. He claimed Jeffrey Epstein tried to pressure him because of them. This follows from a transcript of the meeting published on June 23, writes New York Post.

Gates testified before the House Oversight Committee on June 10, where the Microsoft founder was questioned in detail about Epstein's attempt to exploit his personal relationships to pressure him. His then-wife, Melinda French Gates, also learned of the infidelities at the time. Earlier this year, the billionaire disclosed these episodes to employees of his charitable foundation.

According to Gates, Epstein did indeed discover that he had affairs with two Russian women: bridge player Mila Antonova and nuclear physicist Karima Nigmatulina.

An attempt to gain leverage over one of the world's richest men first surfaced in a letter dated July 18, 2013. The text was published by the US Department of Justice in January. The draft was written by Epstein himself, apparently on behalf of one of Gates's employees, Boris Nikolic, who was then preparing to step down as scientific adviser.

The letter stated: "Although I have been graciously offered a transfer after six years, and Bill has indicated he is willing to pay a generous severance package, I feel it is unfair to myself and my future to continue to assist Bill, from finding him drugs to cope with the after-effects of sex with Russian girls, to facilitating his illicit encounters with married women, to asking me to provide him with Adderall for bridge tournaments."

The text continued: “I believe that I owe it to my friends and future colleagues to acknowledge my moral failure, ask for forgiveness, and move on.”

Gates called the draft "an attempt at blackmail," though in other responses he tried to soften his assessment of what happened.

"Who knows if he sent that letter to Dr. Nikolic, but the text clearly shows that he was considering using a mixture of true and false statements—almost like blackmail—to achieve some goal, including strengthening Dr. Nikolic's hand in negotiating the terms of his departure," Gates told the committee members and their staff.

He said Epstein later tried to get him to reimburse expenses he allegedly incurred on Antonova's behalf. According to Gates, this appeared to be either an attempt at pressure or an attempt to reestablish contact.

"He never blackmailed me, but if you look at these letters, there is a strong suspicion that he was considering it," the billionaire added.

Gates denied knowing about the late Epstein's criminal activities, but acknowledged maintaining contact with him from 2011 to 2014 in hopes of advancing his global philanthropic projects.

In February, the Microsoft founder told Gates Foundation employees that he had two extramarital affairs. According to media reports, during his divorce proceedings with Melinda French Gates, he admitted to being accused of more than 20 extramarital affairs.

The committee also published a transcript of testimony from Epstein's longtime assistant, Leslie Groff. She testified that she arranged massages for him almost daily, but claimed she had no knowledge that the masseuses were underage or of any sexual abuse.

"For me, the few minutes it took to arrange a massage for Mr. Epstein were as routine as going to the gym for someone else," Groff said.

She added: "I can say without a doubt that I have come to the conclusion that the man I worked for from February 2001 to July 2019 was a monster. For 18 years, I worked for Dr. Jekyll, but I was never allowed to see the real Mr. Hyde. Mr. Epstein, I now understand, was a master of manipulation and deception. He kept a clear distinction between his ostensibly legitimate life and his hidden life as a rapist, and he ensured that, as his secretary, I never encountered the intersection of these two worlds."

Groff was asked, among other things, why she continued to work for Epstein after his 2008 conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution. She responded that Epstein convinced her he had been "set up" and that the charges were an extortion attempt.

"He angrily claimed the accusations were false and that he didn't know the women he was in contact with were underage," Groff told lawmakers. "He claimed it was an attempt to extort money from him. In my understanding, that's why law enforcement treated him so leniently, despite the seriousness of the crime."

Groff testified, among other things, that she occasionally connected Epstein with Donald Trump by phone—about once a quarter—but did not arrange any other services for him, including massages or flights on Epstein's private jet.

“Over time, these calls just stopped,” she noted, adding that she didn’t know the reasons why their communication petered out.
