The armless invalid of Chernobyl, who works as a typewriter, is suing Kroger

A resident of Gresham, Oregon, Michael Trimble, born in Chernobyl (Ukraine) without both hands, but nevertheless earning his living by typing on a computer, filed a lawsuit against the Kroger chain of stores.

In the lawsuit, he claims that he was hired to work temporarily at Kroger, but then he was fired for not being able to lift his bicycle to the second floor where his office was located, пишет Gazettco.

According to him, the manager and his colleagues were unhappy that he entered the building with his special bicycle through the main entrance, and demanded that Trimble enter from the back door. The man could not fulfill this request, because then he would have to make a bicycle into the building, which does not allow him to do a disability. Michael told the authorities about the situation, and he was fired.

Trimble has adapted to work on the computer with his feet, but even in this question the management of the office did not meet him, refusing to provide him with a lower table and a second monitor.

Now he demands compensation for dismissal and violation of the law on disabled people, which obliges the employer to take into account the requirements of employees with special needs.

Kroger management declined to comment on the lawsuit, but stated that it always went to meet people with disabilities who worked in the company.

Trimble was born in Chernobyl in 1987, a year after the nuclear power plant disaster. His arms were deformed, his limbs could not perform any functions, so doctors amputated them immediately after birth.

Parents sent a disabled child to an orphanage, in 8 years he was adopted by an American family from Pennsylvania.
