Belarusian for years pretended to be dead for the sake of multi-million dollar insurance in the US

A native of Belarus staged his death so that his family could get 2 million US insurance. He will appear before a US court.

In the spring of 2010, a man insured his life in the States for 2 million dollars, and in October 2011 in Moldova staged his death. He was detained in Moldova only this year, on November 14, and was extradited to the USA.

Igor Vorotinov and his wife Irina are of Belarusian origin, reported Moldovan website unimedia.info. Information that both were born in Belarus TUT.BY confirmed the press secretary of the Prosecutor General of Moldova, Maria Vieru. Details on this account the agency does not report.

In November 2013, Alcona Vorotinova stopped customs in Detroit, Michigan. In his computer there were pictures of his father, taken in April and in May 2013, which confirmed that Igor Vorotinov was alive.

In May 2016, Irina Vorotinova pleaded guilty to fraud. She was sentenced to 37 months in prison, she is now serving a sentence.

Alcon Vorotinov pleaded guilty in March 2015 of the year, he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment and compensation for damage in more than 2 million US dollars. Punishment for Igor Vorotinov himself has not yet been appointed.
