Bartenders waiting for prison for the fact that their client has made an accident
Two Texas bartenders face up to a year in prison because they sold alcohol to a woman who was later arrested for hitting two cyclists, one of whom died as a result.
34-year-old Shafai Luk and 56-year-old John Ward were arrested for selling the Jerilin Weberlein alcoholic drink, which, according to police, after driving from the Island Pier club in Galveston, 4 Jun ran over two cyclists, killing 23-year-old Marco Beltran, writes The New York Post.
Weberlein left the bar less than 15 minutes before the disaster; she was captured on surveillance cameras leaving the establishment. At the bar, Look and Ward sold her alcohol, despite clear signs that the woman was very drunk - she was losing her balance and spilling drinks.
50-year-old Weberlein was accused of driving while intoxicated and intoxicated by murder. The blood alcohol level of the woman was 0,103 ppm (at an acceptable rate of 0,8 ppm) a few hours after the incident.
The court set a pledge in the amount of 7500 dollars for each for Bow and Ward. If found guilty, they face up to 500 dollars in fines and possibly up to a year in prison.
The trial of Weberlein is scheduled for October 17.
