Biden plans to host 8 times more refugees in the US than Trump

President Joe Biden announced his intention to significantly increase the limit on the annual admission of refugees to the United States, which fell to a historic low under Donald Trump, writes The Daily Mail.

In line with his campaign pledge, Biden said he would set a cap on admission of 125 people under the country's refugee resettlement program, up from the current 000.

“We offered refuge to those fleeing violence or persecution in previous years when America's moral leadership on refugees encouraged other countries to open their doors,” Biden said. “I am authorizing an executive order to begin the hard work of rebuilding our refugee program to help meet the unprecedented global need.”

“It will take time to rebuild what has been so badly damaged, but that is what we are going to do,” Biden added.
