“Oil reserves in Saudi Arabia were attacked. There are reasons to believe that we know the culprit and are ready for decisive action, depending on the confirmation of our data, but we want to hear from the kingdom who, in their opinion, carried out the attack, and on what conditions we should act, ”Trump said.

US authorities are not sure that the Hussite rebels are behind the attack. Their version is that the Hussites either did not act alone or did not participate in the attack at all. The State Department accuses Iran of assault.

“There is no evidence that the attacks were from Yemen,” said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. He believes that Iran is behind the attack. Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif accused Mike Pompeo of lying.

“The United States and its customers are stuck in Yemen because of the illusion that military superiority will lead to victory,” the minister wrote on Twitter. Zarif believes that accusations against Iran will not help put an end to the disaster.

US President Donald Trump said that he allowed, if necessary, to allocate oil from US strategic reserves.

“In connection with the attacks on Saudi Arabia, which could affect oil prices, I ordered, if necessary, to allocate oil from the strategic reserve in an amount that will be determined later - sufficient to preserve the oil-rich markets,” Trump wrote. on Twitter.

The US Department of Energy recalls that the strategic reserve is at the disposal of the president, who can use it in a situation with a violation of oil supplies.

In the past, U.S. presidents only ordered the use of strategic reserves three times: George W. Bush in 1991, George W. Bush in 2005, and Barack Obama in 2011. In all three cases, the US Department of Energy sent up to 30 million barrels of oil to the market.
