The US Army pays recruits with the knowledge it needs up to $ 50 thousand introductory bonus: who can get it
For the first time in its history, the US Army is offering the largest bonus to recruits who sign a six-year contract, $50. NPR.
Previously, the army offered new recruits a maximum bonus of $40.
According to Major General Kevin Verin, head of recruiting command, the Army hopes the increase in bonuses will help attract new talent in a difficult environment for military recruiters. Verin said the pandemic has made it difficult to recruit both at schools and at public events, making it much harder for the army to compete for qualified recruits.

“We are still living with the effects of 2020 and the onset of COVID-19 when the school system basically shut down,” Verin told AP. “We have lost a whole class of young men and women with whom we had no personal contact.”
Not everyone gets the maximum
The maximum bonus of $50 will not be given to every recruit. In a press release issued Jan. 000, army recruiting officials said the payout is for qualified recruits who will compete for "the same talent" that the civilian sector is competing for.
The Army is trying to fill both part-time and full-time vacancies in about 150 areas in both active and reserve components.
“This is an opportunity to encourage people to think about the military,” Gen. John Cushing said in a statement. “We have identified the most important military professional specialties that we need to fill in order to maintain training bases, and it is on them that we put a lot of emphasis.”
The amount of the bonus depends on a number of factors.
The overall pay package for military recruits will be based on a number of factors, such as career scope, individual qualifications, length of contract and date of departure for training, officials said.
Incentives based on industry and length of service will range from $1000 to $40 for jobs that are necessary or difficult to fill due to specific qualifications. This applies in particular to radar repairmen, infantry and special forces.

Officials said the army will offer a $2000 to $9000 incentive for those willing to go to basic training within 90 days, among other things. Those who decide to do so in the coming days will be offered larger sums.
In addition, there are incentives for those who enroll in airborne or ranger schools.
