Apple is not the official sponsor of the Olympics in Rio, but the company decided to take advantage of the possibilities of this event for their marketing purposes.
The company sells wristbands for Apple Watch from a limited collection, stylized as flags of 14 countries, and also distributes them to Olympians for free in his store in Rio, writes 9to5mac.
Each accredited Olympiad participant can get two bracelets for free, for the rest the accessory price is $ 49.
This caused outrage of competitors of the company, since it is not an official sponsor of the event, and therefore can not promote its products on it.
