American astronaut sues his children

American astronaut Buzz Aldrin sued his two children and a former business manager. Aldrin accuses them of misappropriating funds, as well as the fact that they undermine his reputation, writes Air force.

The astronaut went to court in the state of Florida with a retaliatory claim: a week before this, the children of Aldrin decided to take control of his finances from his father in court.

Relatives say they have no other choice: They say 88-year-old Aldrin is slipping into dementia (or, as their lawsuit puts it, “suffering from cognitive decline”) and therefore needs a guardian.

Aldrin's 60-year-olds Andrew and Janis claim in their suit that their father recently made new friends who sow hostility between him and his family.

Buzz Aldrin himself claims that Christina Corp and his children improperly took control of his finances, including “space souvenirs” worth several million dollars.

According to him, they used their connections with him to enrich themselves.

The astronaut also claims that children have been slandering him for several years, claiming that he has dementia and that he is suffering from Alzheimer's syndrome.

Aldrin Sr. accuses his son of deliberately exploiting the old man, “through deception and intimidation”, robbing him of his property, and his daughter of fraud and opposing his financial interests.

Buzz’s eldest son does not take part in the litigation and is not mentioned in court documents.

This week, Aldrin should be examined by a court-appointed psychiatrist.

His children issued a statement in which they say that they are saddened by their father’s unfounded retaliation.

“Our family is strong and we know how to work together to resolve problems,” Buzz Aldrin’s children said in a joint statement.

“We love and respect our father very much and hope that sooner or later all this will be behind us and we will resume our close relationship,” the statement said.

Buzz Aldrin was part of the Apollo 11 crew that landed the first two men on the moon in 1969.

In recent years, Aldrin has promoted the idea of ​​sending people to Mars.

Last week, he took part in a meeting of the National Space Council in Washington, where President Donald Trump announced the creation of US space forces.
