The US military will march support for the Baltic countries

The march, called Dragoon Ride, which will be attended by American soldiers of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment (currently stationed in the Baltics), starts on March 21 in Tallinn. 40 units of military equipment (including 20 Stryker vehicles) will move out from there. Air support for the convoy will be provided by the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade.

The column will pass through the territory of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic and will complete its march in the German Filzeck, located between the Czech border and Nuremberg.

During the movement, other US units based in the Baltic countries, as well as representatives of the Estonian Defense Ministry, veterans and members of voluntary armed organizations will join the convoy. Along the way, the convoy will make scheduled stops to hold meetings with local people.

“This mission includes diplomatic and military interaction between different countries. Soldiers and officers will have the opportunity to interact with the local population, deepen their knowledge of European cultural diversity and build relationships that are so necessary for mutual respect and trust within the military alliance,” said US Army Lt. Col. Craig Childs.

With this march, the leadership of the American armed forces decided to further “visually demonstrate American support and devotion to its NATO allies.”
