American supermarkets have imposed restrictions on the sale of some important goods
With all the shortages, price spikes, and other supply chain issues still plaguing grocery stores across the country, your shopping list may look very different, and some you may not find at all. To avoid panic and shortages, many US retailers have introduced restrictions on the purchase of certain products. Edition Eat This Not That, told which products are now sold with restrictions.
Retailers such as Costco, Kroger, Walmart and Target are setting purchase limits to keep items in stock.
Food fusion for kids
About 30% of the most popular baby formula brands are sold out in more than 11 stores across the country. If you're shopping at Walmart, Target, Kroger, CVS, or Walgreens, be prepared to get just a few pieces in one hand. Walmart has a limit of five packs per day, while CVS has a limit of three.
The recall of three Abbott Nutrition infant formulas also affects what's on store shelves. Similac, Alimentum and EleCare formulas were recalled in February after they were found to be contaminated with salmonella. Several illnesses and one death are said to have been linked to formulas that were made at the Michigan facility but sold throughout the United States.

Sugar
Like other grocery store chains, Costco also limits the amount of items some members of the loyalty program can buy. Because supplies of some items are still tight, the company is imposing restrictions on several products, including one type of sugar.
One of the members of the loyalty program reported that he noticed a restriction on the 10-pound (4,5 kg) Imperial Pure Cane Sugar. You can only buy two packs at a time.
Petrol
Another restriction concerns gasoline at Costco. Participants note that the pumps turn off when the price reaches $100. The network's gas stations are very popular right now - gas prices are so high that some people buy a membership in order to take advantage of the network's offers.
Participants say the $100 limit has always existed, but is obviously less achievable when fuel prices are at normal levels.
