American Kalashnikovs went on sale
The American company Kalashnikov USA announced the start of sales of AK-47 Kalashnikovs manufactured in the USA.
Kalashnikov USA was the official importer and distributor of Kalashnikov’s products until 2014 was threatened by the sanctions imposed on Russia.
Earlier this year, American gunsmiths announced that they would begin their own production of legendary machine guns. “We have kept our promise and are ready to provide our customers with quality products at competitive prices,” said Thomas McCrosin, the company's CEO.
American sanctions against Kalashnikov were imposed on 17 on July 2014 of the year. They affected the realization of export contracts concluded by the concern with the United States: out of 90 thousands of ordered barrels, only 34 thousands were supplied, and the remaining 56 thousands hung in warehouses.
2 December 2014, the general director of the state corporation Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, acknowledged that after the introduction of US sanctions, the Kalashnikov concern lost a very large market. The enterprise, however, planned to increase the supply of civilian small arms to countries in Africa and Asia.
