American grandmother at 90 rides a Harley-Davidson

American Gloria Tramontin rides in the saddle of a Harley Davidson at 90 years old. According to her, during her life she changed 14 motorcycles, 11 of which were Harleys. Thanks to her lifestyle on two wheels, Grandma became a well-known figure in the United States. Writes about this Wall Street Journal.

According to Gloria, she was born in a small apartment at her father’s motorcycle shop in Clifton (a city in New Jersey, near New York). Her father opened his motobusiness in 1900 year. From the very first days of her life motorcycles and lovers of two-wheeled vehicles surrounded her.

Her brother put her in the saddle of the “iron horse” when Gloria turned 16 years old. “I told him I wasn’t going to do it! And that he won’t force me,” Gloria recalls that day with a smile. However, her brother convinced her, and for 74 years now the middle-aged biker has been traveling along the roads of the country.

In her life, Gloria took part in several motorcycle races and hundreds of motorcycle rallies throughout the country. Now she “rides” along the wide highways of the States with her granddaughter. Gloria currently owns a classic road Harley-Davidson Softail in blue. Her granddaughter rides next to her grandmother on a red Harley Sportster Roadster.

Biker clubs are closed communities that live and develop according to clearly established strict rules and with serious discipline. And fan clubs are more open, free, democratic and unite people who are not devoid of romance, who sometimes want to exchange their office chair for a motorcycle saddle. For many, wings immediately grow behind their backs, their eyes glow, and they see the world in a completely different light. But there are also “lonely bikers” - people who are not members of any communities. For example, the Harley Owners Group, or HOG for short, is a global community of officially registered owners of Harley-Davidson motorcycles that is 30 years old.

The registered community owners in the world are now over 1 million 200 thousand people. This is the largest motoclub of the planet. Interestingly, among the owners of Harley-Davidson, almost every third (30%) is a woman!
