The American tried to bribe an immigration agent to deport his wife
A resident of Portland, Oregon, offered the immigration agent a few thousand dollars to deport his wife, with whom their relationship was broken, and her daughter from a previous partner.
The man pleaded guilty to attempting to bribe a US official 20 in November, writes Fox News.
According to investigators, 48-year-old Antonio Osvaldo Burgos 24 followed the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) agent from Portland to Vancouver, Washington, and offered him money in exchange for the deportation of his wife and her daughter to Salvador, from where come from
At that time, the couple was in the process of divorce.
The agent rejected the offer, but called Burgos the following week and recorded their conversation. During the conversation, Burgos offered 3000 dollars to the agent for the deportation of his wife. During the second phone call, the man repeated this sentence.
June 6 agent and Burgos met in person, during the conversation the suspect offered the agent 4000 dollars for the deportation of his wife and her child. The man was arrested on June 29.
Sentence Burgos will make 6 May 2019 of the year. He faces up to 15 years in prison and 250 000 dollars in fines.
