Americans organize parties for their dogs worth $ 10 thousands

The Jack Russell Terrier’s birthday will be only 1 of January, but its owner, David Best, has already begun preparations for the celebration.

Invitations for 50 guests will be sent out in November, reports New York Post.

The venue for the dog's 11th birthday party is the miniature golf course at Chelsea Piers.

“I'll dress Elvis up in a vintage golf outfit of panties and a cap,” said David Best, a 60-year-old Union Square physician.

This year, he plans to spend on the event about $ 5 thousand, but some previous Elvis birthdays cost him more.

According to the American Pet Products Association survey, 7% of American dog owners regularly organize birthday parties or other holidays for their pets.

The fashion for dog parties is growing. According to the organizer of such holidays, Lilly Shomer, in the first 8 months of 2016, she received more orders for dog parties at 35% than in the same period of 2015, and the average number of guests at such events also increased.

According to her, parties are organized for dogs in expensive hotels, Disney-themed receptions, and spa trips - Americans are very resourceful in organizing holidays for their four-legged friends.
