Amazon began shipping orders to cars
Amazon online store announced the start of delivery of orders to users' cars. The service is currently available only to owners of certain brands of cars in 37 US cities.
Amazon Key In-Car works with General Motors and Volvo 2015 cars of the year or newer. These machines have a remote access feature that the courier uses to open and lock the car.
According to Amazon’s vice president of delivery for Peter Larsen, the company is pleased with the feedback on the delivery of orders home in the absence of the owners, and wanted to “bring the idea out of the house.”
In the fall of 2017, Amazon began delivering packages to users when they are not at home. The Amazon Key service works thanks to a smart lock that opens the doors at the right moment, and a camera that keeps track of what is happening in the house.
