In Washington, the coast guard watches a shark-people
Washington State Police warns residents of Ocean Shores to stay out of the water as the great white shark watches the people on the coast. According to law enforcement officers, the presence of a shark was found on the seals - one of them was eaten in half.
A seal injured by a shark was found on the shore near the town of Ocean Shores - it was bitten in the chest area. Experts say that the teeth marks made it clear that there was a fairly large great white shark with strong teeth in the waters. “It's a clean bite just under the rib cage. It is worth saying that it was a large and strong seal. The second part of his body was missing,” said Craig Bartlett, a spokesman for the Wildlife Management Agency. Based on the teeth marks, experts concluded that the shark was more than 5,5 meters long.
State police warn local residents that the huge shark is likely to remain on the coast until now and is waiting for a new victim. Therefore, people are asked to refrain from being in the sea even in cold weather - a shark can swim quite close to the shore if it feels profit.
Shark attacks in the United States are not considered common, but they are not uncommon. Since 2010 in the States, 5 people have died from shark attacks - 2 in California, 2 in Hawaii and 1 in Florida. The three victims were most likely caught by the great white sharks.
