The actress from "Harry Potter" Emma Watson appears in the "Panamanian dossier"

Actress Emma Watson, known for her role as Hermione Granger in the film series about the young wizard Harry Potter, had an offshore company that was found in the latest publication of the Panama Papers, an archive of the law firm Mossack Fonseca.

The company established by Watson in 2013 was called Falling Leaves Limited. She was used to buy a house in London for 2,8 million pounds (4 million dollars).

A spokeswoman for the actress claims that the company was created for anonymity and security, and not for tax evasion:

British companies are required to publish details of their shareholders and therefore do not allow her (Emma Watson - ed. ForumDaily) anonymity necessary to protect her safety, which has been compromised in the past. Offshore companies do not publish shareholder data. Emma receives absolutely no monetary benefit from this offshore company at all. - Only personal life.

According to reports, Watson suffered from unwanted persecution of fans, forcing her to take care of safety.

Registration of an offshore company is not illegal or evidence of illegal activity.

Millions application documents Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca were transferred to the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung. The publication, in turn, shared these materials with the International Consortium for Investigative Journalism, with which OCCRP collaborates.

Among other things, the authors of the investigation exposed offshore schemeswhich may be associated with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Nurali Aliyev owns Alba International and the Baltimore Alliance registered in the British Virgin Islands. Aliyev was previously deputy chairman of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and worked in the administration of Astana.
