Actor Benedict Cumberbatch saved a cyclist from robbers
British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the leading role in the detective series Sherlock, saved a courier in central London, near Baker Street, writes Air force.
It was on Baker Street, according to the author of the saga about the great detective Arthur Conan Doyle, and his literary character Sherlock Holmes lived.
The BBC TV star, according to media reports, was riding Friday night in a taxi on Merilebon Street in central London with his wife, Sophie Hunter, when he noticed four people beating up a food cyclist.
Cumberbatch, seeing someone hit a cyclist in the head with a bottle, rushed to help shouting: “Leave him alone!”
“I grabbed one guy, and Benedict the other,” taxi driver Manuel Diaz told the Sun newspaper. “Cumberbatch knew what to do. He wasn't scared at all."
“It was a real Sherlock Holmes fighting four bandits around the corner of Baker Street,” the taxi driver added.
The actor himself told the Sun: "I just did it because I had to, you know."
As the newspaper writes, the courier thanks to the actor managed to avoid significant injuries.
“If Benedict had not intervened, the cyclist would have been seriously hurt,” confirms the driver.
The attackers managed to escape.
