Aeroflot to allocate special seats on planes for those who refuse to wear masks

Passengers who refuse to wear masks on flights of the Russian airline Aeroflot will be placed in a special area of ​​the aircraft cabin. This is reported by Travel + Leasure.

The decision was announced after Aeroflot said it would not deny boarding to passengers who do not want to wear masks.

Aeroflot, Russia's flagship airline, announced this week that passengers who refuse to wear masks on board will be accommodated in a designated area in the aircraft cabin.

While all passengers will be required to wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose during boarding, they will be given the opportunity to select a dedicated seating area after the cockpit door is closed.

The section without masks will be in the last two rows on the right side of the economy class cabin, according to The Moscow Times. The airline did not disclose information about whether this part of the aircraft will be separated from the rest of the cabin.

In May, the company introduced a requirement to wear masks on board aircraft, and passengers were only allowed to take them off while eating.

Russia has resumed mask mode after COVID-19 cases began to rise in October, and while locals are required to wear a mask on public transport, supermarkets and other public places, the rules are not strictly enforced.

All US airlines require passengers two years of age and older to wear masks on board aircraft. Passengers who do not comply with these rules may be removed from flights or blacklisted, which may prevent them from making future flights with the airline.
