Trump's lawyers filed dozens of lawsuits after the 2020 elections: now they are ordered to pay compensation to the defendants
The judge ordered Trump-backed lawyers who filed frivolous electoral fraud cases to pay more than $ 180000 to those they sued, reports CNN.
The two lawyers who have filed a complaint about vote rigging after the 2020 elections are due to pay nearly $ 180 to the defendants they sued. On November 000, a federal justice of the peace said their lawsuit was aimed at "manipulating gullible members of society and fomenting public unrest."
The decision by Justice of the Peace N. Reid Neureiter of the US District Court in Colorado complements the federal judiciary's condemnation of attempts by lawyers supporting then-President Donald Trump to use the courts to test conspiracies in the days following the 2020 presidential election.
Attorneys Gary D. Fielder and Ernest John Walker will have to pay attorneys $50 to Facebook (now Meta), about $000 to Dominion Voting Systems, about $63 to the nonprofit Center for Technology and Civic Life, more than $000 to the state of Pennsylvania and nearly $63 000 to the State of Michigan.
“They must take responsibility for their wrongdoings,” Neureiter wrote in his order, adding that the trial dishonors the defendants.
He continued: “I believe that instead of legitimately using the legal system to obtain compensation for claims eligible for redress, this lawsuit was used to manipulate gullible members of society and incite public unrest. In this respect, this lawsuit was an abuse of the judicial system and interference with the government apparatus. For all these reasons, I believe that the substantive decision on sanctions is fair. ”

The lawsuit, launched in late December 2020, was an attempt to file a class-action lawsuit against the elections on behalf of American voters, including eight named plaintiffs.
Neuriter had previously written a harsh 68-page opinion condemning the post-election lawsuit.
The judge noted that the plaintiffs did not have lawyers or experts to support their allegations of voice swapping and government conspiracies, calling the trial itself "one huge conspiracy theory."
Neurerter's previous ruling was the first serious consequence in federal court that befell lawyers and plaintiffs, who pushed Trump to try to challenge the 2020 election results in court.
Other courts are still considering penalties for other lawyers involved in failed trials.
