Hell trip: after 13 hours in the air, the plane returned to the airport of departure
The passenger plane that took off from Dubai flew for 13 hours and landed at the same airport after it had to turn around in the air, reports Dailymail.
Flight EK448 took off at 10:30 local time on January 27 and was scheduled to land in Auckland, New Zealand 16 hours later.
But an Emirates flight landed in Dubai just after midnight on January 28 due to severe flooding at Auckland Airport. He covered about half of the 14000 km journey before being forced to return to the airport of departure.

A state of emergency was declared in the city of Kiwi after heavy rain brought chaos to the transport hub.
The airport said on Twitter: "Auckland Airport is assessing the damage to our international terminal and has unfortunately determined that no international flights are operating today."
“We know this is very frustrating, but passenger safety is our top priority,” the airport said.
More than 2000 passengers were forced to stay overnight in terminals on January 27 when international and domestic flights were abruptly canceled until January 29.
The downpour was caused by warm air descending from the tropics, causing heavy rain and thunderstorms. Records for rainfall in the city were broken: 24 cm fell at the airport in the 9 hours before 28 am on January 25, which exceeded the 1985 maximum of 15 cm.

The state of emergency in Auckland and surrounding areas was lifted on January 30 in the morning. But the threat of floods remains.
"Some Oaklanders may think the worst is over, but it's not," Oakland Mayor Wayne Brown said.
He said up to 12 cm of rain is predicted in some areas that were already swampy.
“It’s not at all like the evening of January 27, but the ground is so saturated with water and the drains are so overflowing that it could be more dangerous if anything,” Brown said.
He said the number of residents in Oakland and surrounding areas seeking help for storm damage will continue to rise.
“It took a while for everyone to appreciate how massive this event was, and it hasn't ended yet,” he said.
