Adele bought the Stallone mansion for $ 58 million: the deal almost fell through because of the statue of the actor

British singer, winner of 16 Grammy awards, Adele, demanded from Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone that he leave a statue of Rocky by the pool in his mansion, which she bought for $ 58 million. This condition almost derailed the deal, reports Dailymail.

Adele bought the 8-bedroom, 12-bath Stallone mansion in Los Angeles for $58 million last January. To do this, she took out a $37,7 million mortgage.

Sylvester told how a statue of his character Rocky from the 1976 American sports drama film, which stands next to a huge outdoor pool, helped close the deal. The 76-year-old actor was planning to take the statue back when Adele insisted it remain her property.

"She said, 'This will ruin the whole deal.' She wanted a statue,” Stallone said.

Fifteen months after she bought Stallone's home in Beverly Park for $58 million, Adele is furnishing a huge mansion and making it her own.

The only part of Stallone's property that has remained untouched is the swimming pool, at one end of which is a statue of Rocky with a fist pointing to the sky. This is Stallone's iconic pose atop the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

But the statue of a polo player on a horse on the opposite side of the garden did not survive the reconstruction of Adele.

Stallone is a passionate fan of this sport. His family has a long history of polo, as his late father Frank was a professional player in his native Italy.

Stallone added that he believes the singer has excellent taste. “I love what she does, she does it great,” he said.

Stallone put the house up for sale for $110 million, then lowered the price to $85 million before he accepted Adele's offer.

Last July, a building permit report was filed with the Los Angeles Department of Buildings and Safety for "remodeling/renovations." The description states that the permit is for “interior non-structural renovation of an existing single-family dwelling” and notes that “no increase in floor area or change in building area is required” or “the appearance of the structure.”
