Abramovich bought the fourth mansion on the same street in New York
Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich decided to "reign" on East 75th Streetby buying there a total of 4 houses in a row, reports The Post.
The details of the fourth acquisition of Abramovich became known a few days after Mayor De Blasio made a speech about how Russian oligarchs are buying up property in the megalopolis.
Abramovich, whose fortune is estimated at 9,6 billions of dollars, secretly bought a house on 9 E. 75th St. as part of its collection, which also includes 11, 13 and 15 E. 75-i St.
At first, he hoped to combine No. 11, 13 and 15 to form one of the largest houses in the city. But after 9 E. 75th St. became available for sale.
Abramovich now believes his new combination of numbers 9, 11 and 13 will "fit together" better - and still give him a mansion fit for a king, the source said.
“It will look better and create a more balanced façade to the street that has more symmetry,” said a source close to architect Stephen Wang, who is working as a “designer collaborator” with the Swiss architecture firm. Herzog & de Meuronwhich creates a home for Abramovich.
It is not yet known that Abramovich, the owner of the Chelsea football team in Britain, plans to do with the house 15 E. 75 St.
Earlier this month, the mayor of the city of De Blasio сказалthat Russian oligarchs "basically stole the wealth of their country with the help of their government", and then penetrated the city to create their home base.
“What is happening in Russia has become very deeply disturbing in all directions. The fact that the oligarchs are the people who basically stole the wealth of their country along with their government is worrying, ”said the mayor of New York.
Abramovich, who allegedly made his fortune at rigged privatization auctions, paid a total of 96 million dollars for all four properties that were acquired using an LLC, according to city property data.
“If the sellers knew he was buying up the block, they could hold out at higher prices,” the source said.
Abramovich split from his wife Dasha Zhukova, a close friend of Ivanka Trump and the daughter of another oligarch. Zhukova is the mother of two of Abramovich's seven children.
Abramovich and his former business partner, Boris Berezovsky, who was found dead in the 2013 year, were both involved in helping to bring Vladimir Putin to power in the 2000 year.
