A Ukrainian man was arrested in Illinois for a suitcase full of meth worth $3,6 million.
Illinois State Police seized nearly 100 pounds of methamphetamine from a Madison resident during a traffic stop on Interstate 74 near Bloomington. The suspect was identified as a Ukrainian citizen, according to the website Wkow.
A Madison, Wisconsin, resident was caught with nearly 100 pounds (45 kg) of methamphetamine in Bloomington, Illinois. Police arrested 25-year-old Ivan Kuchuk of Madison on April 6 after finding the drugs in his car. He is charged with methamphetamine trafficking.
During the search, police officers found several packages of the drug, weighing approximately 99,7 pounds (45,2 kg). The street value of the seized psychostimulant is nearly $3,6 million.
Kuchuk was alone in the car. The arrest went smoothly, as Illinois police wrote on their website. official Facebook page.
Illinois State Police referred the case to the McLane County District Attorney's Office, which charged Kuchuk with methamphetamine trafficking. He is currently being held in the McLane County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
