Billboard called Lady Gaga "Woman of the Year"
The American magazine Billboard, in conjunction with cable TV channel Lifetime, has identified "Woman of the Year-2015" in the music industry. She became the singer Lady Gaga.
The award, according to the publication’s website, will be presented to the performer at a ceremony to be held on December 11 in New York.
Billboard experts stressed that Lady Gaga is the dominant figure in contemporary popular culture, influencing public tastes. “Her show programs, charitable and educational activities, work with young people, the struggle for equal rights make us take a new look at the role of media stars in the modern world,” they explain. Lifetime noted that Gaga is an extraordinary artist who "symbolizes determination, fortitude and courage."
Winner of six Grammy awards, Lady Gaga is actively working not only in music but also in movies. In October, 2015, the singer will appear in the new season of the series “American horror story”. For ten years of her career 29-year-old singer recorded a few dozen singles and four studio albums, the last of which was released in the year 2014.
Billboard magazine at various times called Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Fergie, and Katy Perry the “Woman of the Year”.
