Edward Snowden started Twitter
Former employee of the National Security Agency Edward Snowden started a Twitter account.
Just a couple of hours ago, his first tweet appeared, which already scored 42 thousands of retweets.
At the time of this writing, 340 thousands of people subscribed to his account. Edward himself has so far subscribed to only one - the site of the National Security Agency.
Former US intelligence officer has been in Moscow since June 23 2013. In August, 2014 was granted a residence permit.
In the US, Edward Snowden is accused of espionage; if he returns home, he faces up to thirty years in prison. He handed over to journalists a number of secret documents about the activities of the American special services. The materials reported on the conduct of American intelligence agencies large-scale surveillance of telephone conversations and electronic correspondence of US citizens and leaders of other countries.
