US Jews unite to ensure fair coverage of Israel-Hamas war
Leading US Jewish organizations have come together to ensure unconditional American support for Israel and fill the gap in coverage of the war between Israel and Hamas.
Project 10/7, named in memory of Black Saturday on October 7, was a joint initiative of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC); Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA); Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.
According to organizers, the 10/7 Project is designed to promote continued bipartisan U.S. support for Israel by working to provide more complete and accurate real-time information about the war between Israel and Hamas to policymakers and the American public.
“Since October 7, Israel’s enemies have made a concerted and sustained effort to draw a false and dangerous analogy between Hamas’ deadly rampage to destroy the Jewish state and Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorists,” American Jewish Committee CEO Ted Deutch said in a statement.
“At this critical juncture, it is critical that we separate fact from fiction about America’s most important ally in the Middle East and remind people that the vast majority of Americans understand that Hamas is our common enemy,” said Eric Fingerhut, President and CEO Jewish Federations of North America. “Through a rapid response and a comprehensive media campaign, Project 10/7 will work tirelessly to combat disinformation and inaccurate reporting about the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The head of the Conference of Presidents of Leading American Jewish Organizations, William Daroff, in turn, said that it is necessary to keep the atrocities of Hamas in the spotlight in order to counter those who deny the scale and depravity of this terrorist attack.
