Kuuipo Kanavalivali filmed the lights flying under the moon on Saturday night, October 24th.
“I started filming them,” Kanawavali said. “I was nervous because I didn’t know what it was.”

John O'Meara, chief scientist at the Keck Observatory in Hawaii, claims the light was from a Chinese rocket booster that was used to launch a Venezuelan communications satellite in 2008.
“This launch vehicle was orbiting the Earth, but its orbit was decreasing and eventually broke up enough that it was slowed down by the atmosphere and reentered the Pacific Ocean,” O'Meara said. — Space debris falls all the time. Usually it doesn't make such a bright light show, but in this case we were lucky."
